Name: GLENN S. BROOKS Dates: Birth date: February 10, 1958 Death date: November 8, 2011 Obituary: FORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- Capt. Glenn S. Brooks, passed away unexpectedly in a boating accident in Miami, Florida. He was 53 years old. Glenn was born on February 10, 1958 and was raised and educated in Lowell and Westford, MA. He was the son of the late Margaret Talty/Kimball and James Brooks. He moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida where he pursued his love of the ocean, boats and Ocean Navigation. While living in Fort Lauderdale, he was a successful Motor Yacht Captain where he spent years navigating to places such as the Caribbean, Panama Canal, China, California, Aruba, and many trips to Belize and Bahamas. Glenn was a free spirit who was always laughing and enjoyed life he lived life his way. Glenn was an avid scuba diver and enjoyed sport fishing winning many fishing tournaments in Florida and the Caribbean. His favorite past time was working on ideas on ways to utilize Solar Power and was working toward patenting his designs. Although living in the Fort Lauderdale for over 25 years, Glenn never gave up his loyalty to the New England Patriots and the Boston Red Sox he was a loyal fan. Glenn is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, James and Sandra Brooks of North Carolina; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Mandi and James Coulouras of MA, Linda VanCuylenburg of FL; and many nieces, nephews family and friends. BROOKS -- A private service is planned. In leui of flowers donations can be made to the Lowell MA.
